Annual Day!!

Hi!
I will skip directly to the important news. Annual Day was shifted to January 5th, and we are practicing. Actually,I am not in classical dance. I am in a contemporary song and a surprising ending. It has three parts.Contemporary is a dance with all types of dancing with swaying, high jumps and stunts. Here is a picture of a person doing contemporary( at least posing a step.) .In the first part, all of us dance together. In the second bit, two girls dance to a short song with ribbons. In the third, all the girls join together some simple props and make a Ganesha picture. Its really fun. Other than this there is no other news. Bye!

Back after many days..

Hi!
Our work in school has finally lessened as we have the annual day or school starting day in about two weeks. We are going to start start practicing for dances, plays or skits and much, much more. If everything goes as we thought of, I am doing a classical indian kuchipudi dance for it. This is a picture of a few girls dancing kuchipudi (not me). It originates in Andhra Pradesh,India, where I live. I have been learning this dance (kuchipudi) for about three years. I am very excited for tomorrow as we would only have the main classes for the five main subjects which are math, science, social studies, English and additional language. After that, we would practice for the program the rest of the day. Finally..less work!! That's all the news for now. Bye!

Second, Unit tests are coming up so we are preparing hard. This also adds up to all the work we have.
Third and last, Children's Day is on the fourteenth so we have something fun to look forward to.
See you in my next post!!

Festive Season....!!

Hi and Happy Diwali, Narakachathurdasi and Halloween...
Many festivals are coming up. I will explain about each one in brief...
Diwali has many reasons. Our family celebrates it on the reason that many years ago Lord Rama returned from 14 years of exile. There are many more reasons. We Indians have a tradition a burning firecrackers.
Narakachathurdasi is before the big festival. Diwali is actually a 5 day festival. On this day many pujas are done.
Halloween is celebrated by christians and is majorly celebrated in the U.S.A. Kids go to neighbors houses and ask for candy. This is a good tradition.
Enjoy celebrating these. Bye!!!

Hello...

Hi...
Many things are happening here in Hyderabad. Some people are fighting to group a few districts in Andhra Pradesh to a new place called Telangana. We are getting many holidays because of bandhs.
After about 20 days of holidays we have school tomorrow. I am happy and sad to go again. Happy because I get to meet all my friends. Sad because holidays are ending. Many political leaders are not able to agree to give Telangana or not. So, if there are not any more disputes I will have school tomorrow. This is all for now. Bye!

More Books....

In my last post I have mentioned that I love to read and I am reading books by Enid Blyton these days. I also mentioned about St. Clare's and that there was another well known series that I read.
That series is........The Famous Five! For the people who do not know about it this is a series of mystery books starring five characters. They are siblings Julian, Dick and their little sister Anne. They go places and discover things with their cousin Georgina (she is a tom boy who hates being a girl. She likes to be called as George) and her dog Timothy. To learn more about this series, you can visit Wikipedia or you can also read the series. I have read five of the books. Bye for now!

Books!

Hi again!
In my previous posts I talked about my favorite sites. As I may have mentioned before, I LOVE to read.I mostly read books written by Enid Blyton (these days).
As written in my profile, one of my favorite series is a book called St. Clare's by Enid Blyton. It has nine books and I have all of them. The main characters are two girls (twins) called Pat and Isabel who live in the UK. At first they hate changing schools. But after a few weeks of going to this boarding school they start to love it. You can learn more about them in Wikipedia. You can also read them if interested.
In my next post I will write about another favorite series of books. Any guesses? Okay, here is a hint. Its also by Enid Blyton and it is a good and well known mystery book (actually series of books). Keep guessing. I will write about it in a few days. Bye readers!

Brainpop

Hi! In my last post, I talked about poptropica, one of my favorite sites. My best site to gather information besides Google is brainpop. Its URL is www.brainpop.com. Younger users (K - 3) could use brainpop junior. Its URL IS www.brainpopjr.com. Both have videos about things. There are free videos and , like most of them, you have to have an account. Brainpop features a boy named Tim, and Brainpop Jr features a girl named Anne. They are both accompanied by Moby, a robot. So, hope you have fun in this new site!

One of my favorite sites

Hi!
This time, I wanted to tell all the viewers about one of my favorite sites to play games on. One of my favorites is poptropica (www.poptropica.com) Its a free game world. First you can create a character and then take it into different worlds. These worlds are called islands. Some of them are Shrink Ray island, Early poptropica, Reality TV island, Spy island ,etc. There are up to 22 of these. After finishing one, you can also replay it. If you save your game with a username and password, your progress will be saved, and the next time you come on you just click 'retuening player' and continue. When you save your game or finish an island, you receive 'credits' (poptropican money) which you can by clothes and special features with.To buy things click the star on the top right corner. If you really like the game, you can pay money and become a member, and get extra features. The newest upcoming island is 'mystery train island', which comes for members on 9th august, and for normal players about a week or two later. Hope you like this game! Bye!

Hi!
Happy Vinayaka Chathurthi! Tomorrow Lord Ganesha would probably be very happy with all our pujas in India. Most of my friends and relatives stopped using colorful Ganesha statues so it is an eco-friendly festival for me and for my friends. The day before this festival is Ramzan or Ramadan. This festival I do not celebrate but many others do, and I hope they enjoyed it today. We got little Ganesha statues to paint with water color in our school. I finished painting it. See you guys later, Bye!

Hi!
I am sorry that it has been about a month since I last posted. We are having examinations soon. Last unit test was only a few days back. I went to my native place last week. I had to skip school for two days. School is getting very hard. Another thing is that we went to KBR park and helped to support corruption. Anna Hazare is trying to stop corruption. We helped to support that. That was the only fun thing that happened. Bye.

Exciting things!

Hi!

Two things happened recently.

One was going to Mahanandi, a temple in Kurnool. We also went to Alampur, Yaganti and Belum Caves. These are places are places surrounding it.

The Other was a shopping experience in Hyderabad Inorbit Mall. Well, it was not exactly shopping. Its an exhibition called Dialogue in the Dark. We were in a totally dark room, and we had to use our senses to feel and locate where we were. I was a little scared to be in pitch black darkness at first but later I enjoyed it. We went through a bridge (a shaking one), a park, a boat, a road and a supermarket in the dark. It was about an hour.

See you later! I gotta go!

New School! ( and other things)

Hi! It has been a long time since I last posted, about a year ago. This year, its not like that. This blog will have a new post every few days, at some point! So, hope you enjoy.

Now coming to the point, I joined in a new school, Meridian, in Madhapur, Hyderabad. I enjoyed it for the past few days, and I hope to enjoy it in the future too.

In this school there is a new thing (atleast for me as I joined just a few days back) starting tomorrow, called a J.A.M. It stands for just a minute. The teachers give us a topic, and we have to talk about it for a minute without any mistakes. We also shouldn't stop or stammer in the middle. I am looking forward to see how it goes.

Founders Day is on June 21st, and I am doing a classical Kuchipudi dance for it.I will tell on my next few posts on how it goes. We are preparing so hard for it.

This is all for now.See you next time. This is Suhruta signing off. Bye!
